Welcome back to the Art of Feeling podcast. This is Charlize, and thank you for joining me for this week, where we are completing our exploration of digestive health and gut health with a meditation. So this meditation we're doing is borrowed from my book, the 21 Day Meditation Journey. It's a simple meditation exercise where we simply bring our tensions to our belly, and it can be used during a midday nap or when you're laying down at night. But the intention of this meditation is to help you relax, calm the brain, let's us get more blood flow to our digestive system and our belly, which is very relaxing and helps to support digestion.
Speaker 1:So we're still going to focus our energy on our bellies, but now we're going to be lying down and, if you'd like, you can do this at bedtime.
Speaker 1:So once you get yourself into a comfortable position, laying down, you're going to place both hands on your belly in whatever way feels more comfortable, so left hand can be on top of right, or right can be on top of left, or hands can be next to each other. Once you get in that position, you're going to take a deep inhale with the intention of making your hands rise and exhale, letting your hands fall, and so you'll have a few minutes of music to help you relax, while you take long inhales focusing your intention on making the hands rise and then letting the hands fall, you may find, as you get into this meditation, that you'll get a gentle, warming sensation in your hands. And if you do, just take your tension there, feeling your own heat, heating up your hands and letting your belly rise and fall, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the.
Speaker 1:And as you relax more, you may find yourself drifting away into sleep or into a deeper level of relaxation. Once again, thank you so much for joining me for this episode. This will be the end of this season because, as always, it's good to take some downtime to take a break. Although there won't be any new episodes for a few weeks, you can always find me at healingrtshealthandwomenuscom. You can always find me at drsharlisecom.
